May 28, 2024 – The Renfrew County Catholic District School Board is proud to announce that they have filled the principal and vice principal positions at St. John Bosco, Bishop Smith Catholic High School, St. Joseph’s High School, and St. John XXIII.
David Afelskie, the current Religious Education Coordinator for RCCDSB and acting Principal at George Vanier, will assume the Principal position at St. John Bosco in Barry’s Bay.
Lauren Oattes, currently working as a teacher at Our Lady of Fatima, will become the Vice Principal at Bishop Smith Catholic High School in Pembroke.
Jane O’Gorman, currently working as a teacher at St. Joseph’s High School, will become the Vice Principal at St. John XXIII in Arnprior.
Sarah Watson, who joins Renfrew County Catholic from her position as Vice Principal at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy, a K-12 publicly funded Catholic school in Canmore, Alberta, will become the Vice Principal at St. Joseph’s High School in Renfrew.
These changes will take effect in September 2024. The Board looks forward to welcoming the newly appointed Principal and Vice Principals to their school communities, and they are confident that every Catholic school in Renfrew County has faith-filled, hard-working, dedicated leaders at their school.
